HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICER

We are seeking to recruit a Health & Safety Officer. Reporting to our Health & Safety Manager, the role will involve managing Health & Safety on various projects in the greater Dublin Area.
Role Description
As a Health & Safety Officer, you will ensure the implementation and adherence to our Health & Safety policies and procedures on multiple projects.
The essential duties will include the following:
Liaise with the Site Management Teams to ensure compliance with current H&S statutory requirements and the Company’s procedures.
Deliver Site Inductions and Toolbox Talks.
Management of site H&S documentation, including site training records, machinery certification, and other statutory H&S records.
Carry out Risk Assessments and develop and maintain Method Statements.
Carry out site safety audits across the Company.
Actively promote H&S culture on the Company’s sites.
Qualifications and Experience
At least five years of experience managing Health & Safety on construction projects, preferably as a main contractor & PSCS.
A third-level qualification in Health & Safety or equivalent (NEBOSH, IOSH, etc.).
Excellent knowledge and understanding of Irish Health & Safety legislation, regulations and industry practices.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Superior computer skills with great attention to detail.
Full driving licence.

Junior Quantity Surveyor
Castlebrowne is looking to recruit a Junior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial team in managing all aspects of construction costs and contracts. The role involves assisting with estimating, budgeting, and controlling costs to ensure that projects are completed within their financial targets.
Role Description
1. Cost Estimating & Budgeting:
Assist in preparing and updating project budgets.
Carry out measurement tasks from drawings to calculate quantities.
Support in preparing bills of quantities.
Help in the preparation of cost estimates and material quantities for construction projects.
2. Procurement:
Assist in evaluating contractor and supplier bids and managing the procurement process.
Support in administering contracts and ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions.
Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of services and materials.
3. Cost Control & Valuation:
Monitor project costs and report variances to senior team members.
Support in tracking and managing variations in project scope and budget.
Assist in the preparation of interim valuations and final accounts.
Support in assessing work completed on-site for payment purposes.
Work closely with the project team to ensure all financial aspects of the project are well managed.
Visit construction sites to observe progress, confirm measurements, and check costs.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
1-3 years of experience in quantity surveying, construction, or related roles.
Proficiency in using quantity surveying software and tools (ConQuest, Cubit, or similar).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to travel to construction sites as required.
A strong desire to learn and develop in the field of quantity surveying.

Senior Site Engineer
Due to continued expansion, Castlebrowne is currently recruiting a Senior Site Engineer to join our expert team for various projects in the greater Dublin area.
As Main Contractors, we work closely with our valued clients to deliver full turnkey solutions for their construction projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure work is carried out to the highest standards and our quality control and project-specific procedures are implemented.
Ensure setting-out information is relevant and available in a format easily communicated on a site.
Conduct your work safely, correct errors, and take responsibility for ensuring that all works are carried out to the highest Health and Safety standards.
Develop and maintain professional working relationships with work colleagues and Client Representatives.
Reading & interpreting drawings for layouts, materials measurement, etc.
Management of subcontractors/general workforce on site.
Planning works efficiently to ensure program targets are achieved.
Ordering and control of materials on site.
Maintaining the site records and records of discussions/meetings with designers and subcontractors.
Maximise profit through your day-to-day actions: good self-management, accuracy in your work, elimination of re-work and contractual awareness.
Follow directions as part of a team and attend meetings as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
A third-level degree in Engineering.
A minimum of 10 years experience as a site engineer.
Experience working with the main contractor, subcontractor, and surveying firm.
Good understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent knowledge of Autocad and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, etc.
A proactive and driven person with a strong desire to make progress backed by strong construction knowledge.
